Dan Olson, Principal

Dan Olson was born and raised in Helena, Montana.  He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Montana-Western in 1993 and holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration.   After college, Dan accepted a job teaching middle school Social Studies at Havre Middle School in Havre, Montana.   While in Havre, Dan also served as the Head Wrestling Coach at Havre Middle School as well as the Head Football Coach at Havre High. 

In 2000, Mr. Olson accepted a teaching and coaching position at Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho before finally landing in Colorado Springs in 2003.  From 2003 through 2009 Dan taught Social Studies and was the Head Football Coach at Rampart High School.  Mr. Olson has served as a building administrator at Air Academy High since 2009.  Mr. Olson is married to his beautiful wife, Windy, and has two amazing children, Ty who graduated from Air Academy High School in 2010 and daughter, Steffani, who will be a 2025 graduate of AAHS.  In his free time, Dan enjoys the outdoors, lifting weights, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends.  Mr. Olson loves his staff and students and strives to ensure that all students have an incredible experience while at Air Academy.

Liz Walhof, Assistant Principal

Liz Walhof came to work as an Assistant Principal at Air Academy High School in 2018 after having been a high school classroom teacher, high school instructional coach, district-level professional developer, and district level technology coach. She moved to Colorado in 2000, taught 15 years in Douglas County School District, three years in Lewis-Palmer School District, and is loving working as a servant leader here in Academy District 20. In addition to her principal’s license, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Spanish Education with a minor in K-12 Art Education, a certificate in K-12 Instructional Technology, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. 

She has presented at numerous conferences and has worked across the nation as a consultant for professional development workshops for educators. She is currently on the Board of the Colorado Association of Secondary School Principals (CASSP). Like many AAHS students, Ms. Walhof traveled extensively during her education, including living for extended periods in Papua New Guinea and in Spain. Outside of school, Ms. Walhof is an avid reader, enjoys cooking, studying other languages, kayaking, canoeing, and traveling. The only continent she has yet to visit is Antarctica but she hopes to get there before she retires. She is married with four wonderful (and very tall) children.

Kali Maxwell, Assistant Principal / Athletic Director

Kali Maxwell was born and raised in Colorado Springs. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Long Island University, where she played four years of College Lacrosse, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. After college, Kali accepted a job teaching middle school Physical Education at Panorama Middle School in Colorado Springs. While at Panorama, Kali was the assistant Cross Country and Volleyball Coach at Panorama and the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Air Academy High School.

The following year, Mrs. Maxwell accepted a teaching position at Air Academy High School. She was an assistant Cross Country Coach for three seasons and Head Girls Lacrosse Coach for 6. She became the Athletic Director at Air Academy High School in 2022. Mrs. Maxwell is married and has one daughter. Kali enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching sports in her free time. Mrs. Maxwell loves AAHS and is “Proud to Be a Kadet!”

Anna Keilman, Assistant Principal

Anna Keilman is nearly a Colorado native (20+ years counts, right?) Anna grew up in Oregon City, Oregon and attended college at Western Oregon University where she earned her degree in Education. A need for adventure brought her to Colorado where she was first hired as an ESL teacher in Harrison School District. Anna earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from UCCS while working in Harrison. She taught (Social Studies, English and ESL) and coached in Harrison until she was hired as a Dean of Students in Fountain Fort Carson District. Anna then moved to Eagleview Middle School and served as an Assistant Principal there for many years.

She started at AAHS in 2018 and she loves everything about her job here: the students, staff and families are the best! Ms. Keilman is married to her husband, Brian, who teaches Math in D11. They have one child, Thomas, who is in elementary school and two poorly behaved, but very cute dogs. Ms. Keilman enjoys time with family and friends, attending her son’s sporting events, hiking, the outdoors, live music, reading, and traveling when she has time off. Ms. Keilman is passionate about student success so come see her if you need anything at all!

Alice Stoneback, Dean of Students

Alice Stoneback was born and raised in Alma, Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Alma College in 2004 and promptly began teaching. From 2004 to 2022, she taught French, Student Council, and English at Manitou Springs High School. During that time, she also coached Track and Field and Cheerleading, and sponsored other clubs along the way. She earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Colorado College in 2017 and a Principal Certificate from CSU Global in 2021.

Alice became the Dean of Students at Air Academy High School in 2022 and has enjoyed  the transition into administration. It really is good to be a Kadet! She continues to serve as the Chair of the CHSAA Student Leadership Committee to share her passion for growing student leaders with other educators around Colorado. Outside of school, Alice loves to read, spend time outside, and dance it out. She especially enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and two young sons who keep her moving!
