The Air Academy Marching Band auditioned for the Festival of Fantasy Parade last March 2022 and started preparing in February 2023 with many in and out of school practices to rehearse. The parade took place at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on March 28th and the Air Academy band was the leading band in the parade. This was the band's first time to Disney World in Florida. The band previously performed at Disneyland in California in 2018.
AAHS Band director, Joe Musick said, "The band had a great performance trip! The students did a fantastic job marching down Main Street Disney and were incredibly proud of their performance. The Air Academy Band students were proud to represent Academy District 20, Colorado Springs, and Colorado to an international audience in The Magic Kingdom. After our performance students were able to enjoy the rest of the Orlando Disney and Universal parks with their friends and bandmates. This truly was a performance opportunity and trip that created lifelong memories for our students."
