Col. Huber wrote this about Chase:

Chase Lainez is one of the most mature, professional, selfless, well-rounded high school students I’ve worked with in 14 years.  He is laser-focused on becoming a nurse because his passion is helping people.  He is equally at home in a classroom or on a playing field.  He is also equally at home playing himself or cheering on his younger siblings.  Chase is a natural leader because he is such an outstanding role model and takes a genuine interest in the well-being of others.  He is Captain of our Raider Team, the best JROTC fitness team in Colorado, and will be leading the team at the All-Service National Competition in Florida next month.  He tied for the highest score on the SAT of the thousands of students I’ve had in my program.  I can’t think of a more deserving student to be a Daniels Fund Scholar and I know that Chase will make the most of that opportunity at the University of Northern Colorado to become the best possible nurse he can be to serve the community in the future.

All of us at AAHS are so proud of Chase and look forward to see his bright future unfold.
